What To Expect with Surgery

We at AO Orthopedics feel that it is important you be an informed patient. To assist you, we have provided a direct link to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons website. The links will take you directly to the patient education section. The physicians and office staff at our practice want to make sure that if you desire, you are able to review the procedure as well as what to expect afterwards when you go home.

If you are currently scheduled for surgery, depending upon the procedure, our doctors may have provided you with a booklet describing the surgery. What you will find is that the booklet will provide you with the particulars of the surgery and what the doctor will be doing while you are under anesthesia.

On the right hand side of this web page are the AAOS links.. Click on the body part with the injury and you will be taken to the correct section of the patient education of their website. Select from the menu either the injury or the surgical procedure proposed. From there you will be able to select either the particular procedure or, you can learn more about the condition , different treatments and what to expect afterwards.

Please provide the front desk some feedback on the website and the additional links.
